P5 Jock Dibu Sketches 21012025

Image
I was thinking about making some characters or "personas" for when I eventually start making YouTube videos I initially thought of making Chester my main RiloDibu sona since the whole channel idea started with me thinking how Chester would react to certain stimuli. And then it started to become my persona as Chester. lol For outreach, I thought it would be good to have a human character as the main host. Would it be more relatable for other watching? I wanted to make Jock Dibu to be comically Dorito-shaped mainly for my own preferences. Actually, I wanted all of the candidates for my main character to be Dorito-shaped. Also to appeal into that big guy aesthetic.   At first, I tried to go for the black dot eyes but quickly realized that they were really limiting and not for me. I wanted more eye action to really sell expressions. Also because he looked a little weird without the rest of his eyes for context. Maybe it was just me being unfamilia...

Cleaned up a lot of the issues I had in the previous post here in P3. Made his tits bigger, added pants and corrected his eyebrow crown. For the pants, I tried my own rule whereby I searched up some references and told myself to only use 3 creases and folds max per tensional point. Really got me to simplify and reduce the noise. (Though it is still a little noisy :0)  Really proud of the work here actually :') His belt and buckle really giving me JJBA Steel Ball Run vibes. I would probably check out some of Hira Araki's work to see where to go from here. Next thing to work on for me is rendering, specifically values and edges. I'll try to spend the next month or so working on that whilst completing the Watt's Online Course for Figure Phase I. Goru'Chan wip, Digital, Clip Studio Paint, 16012025

This is a work-in-progress of Goru'Chan. Decided to make some adjustments to his features to make it repeatable as well as chubby/cute. Also removed his hat in this image to reveal what he actually looks like. Quite impressed with myself on the line work as it was something that I was a little worried about whenever it comes to finishing a piece, or even just moving beyond the sketch phase. I definitely need to work on subjects such as the hands and Pants.  I feel that, in terms of clothes, I only need to add shorts and shoes. It will kinda complete the suggestive look that I'm aiming towards without the overall piece looking too sexual. I guess furries are the few subjects that can escape wearing only pants and shoes everywhere. Though looking back at it though, there are somethings that I will need to amend. Hands Pants Triceps to Biceps peak to peak angle on his right arm Reduce line weight contact of his left arm on lats Adjust his Eyebrow "Crown" to match the...

Expected colour scheme for Goru'Chan After scanning the drawing on Vellum in post P1 here , I decided to do some clean up on Chan and added some basic colours to what I imagined he'd be like.  Need to work on the shape design and anatomy for his arms as well as learning the different details and rendering skills to bring the image up in terms of quality.  I should probably digitalize this in Clip Studio Paint too and do some of the line work. A few things that bother me are: The triceps sillouette on his right arm The curved line that should be straight on the slime Overall line work roughness Colour design of his eyes Crease of Radialis and Bicep on his arms  Goru'Chan and Slime, Scanned and Coloured, 05012025

First post here! Hopefully I can use this consistently as a resource for my own references and logging. Did this piece of Goru'Chan, one of my characters in my head canon. I didn't really know what to do with his hands. At first, I initially had the idea of him opening a burger and looking for any pickles. But I could describe the scene effectively for that message. I still didn't know how to draw a burger. A part of me is really curious in improving the dynamism of my illustrations. I tried adding a bit of "Contraposto" but I feel like it isn't enough for me. I'm trying to capture the look, feel and vibe of artist like Uleez and Darkgem online. Maybe its the composition. Like zooming into his face, changing the angle of the viewer, having the pose be in motion instead of being static. I'll have to try these out in the future.
